Dr. Sabita Manian,PhD

Dr. Sabita Manian, PhD, is Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and Professor of International Relations and Security Studies at the University Of Lynchburg, Virginia. Dr. Manian is co-author of Sex Trafficking: A Global Perspective (2010) and has authored dozens of journal articles, book chapters, academic papers and public lectures on identity and diaspora politics, human security, foreign policies, and gender politics relating to Asia, the Americas, and Europe. She is the recipient of the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Outstanding Faculty Award (SCHEV), the Shirley Rosser Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Thomas Allen Award for Excellence in Advising and is a recent inductee of the Phi Kappa Phi international honors society for scholars and professionals.

 

She has presented academic papers nationally and internationally in Argentina. Barbados, Belize, Belgium, China, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, France, Grenada, Guyana, Guadeloupe, India, Italy, Japan, Morocco, Saint Lucia, and the UK. She serves on the Board of RUSH Homes, Lynchburg Board of the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC), and the Advisory Board for the Center for Community Engagement.
